The Spring Break is a reformatted model of the UK Board Test, which for years was once a private, invite only event. Whilst the UK tests were a guaranteed great week/ infamous, a change was needed to keep the event fresh and now the Spring Break is open to all.
With over 50 brands in attendance offering their next seasons’s collection up for testing and a host of both on and off hill activities available. Over 300 people in the form of brand distributors, pro riders, shop staff and people along for the good times, all made the trip to the picturesque, glacier resort of Kaunertal to see the season out with a bang. The organisers dub the week the #bestweekoftheyear and they did not disappoint. Here is a small selection of the people who make the week so special.
Jeremy Sladen has been involved in the Snowboarding industry for over 30 years and is head buyer of hard goods for the Uk’s biggest Snowboard store; The Snowboard Asylum. You would struggle to find a UK pro who has not been hooked up by Jez at one point.
Simon Belson is stoked on life and stoked on Spring Break
Tarquin Robbins is a Snowboarding icon and after a little abscense from the Sport has found himself working for The Riders Lounge. Tarquin helps oversee the distribution of Capita, Deelux Boots, Union and many more.
Every year Dragon put some style back into contests with their Methodical Madness contest. Here Will Smith takes the crown.
Even olympians were in attendance, Jamie Nicholls loving the UK banter.
Ian Ashmore aka Thrashmore. Co- founder of legit brand Dalikfodda, a Dr. of theoretical astrophysics, Yorkshire Tea lover and now self appointed Destroyer of Worlds at Bataleon Snowboards.
- In 2009 Keith McIntosh was tragically killed in an avalanche whilst on a test week in Kaunertal. Each year to celebrate and remember the life of Keith all attendees of the week do a lap in Keith’s honour. Here Billy Morgan gets prepared to show his respects.
